Moran Photography 2014
Moran Photography 2013
Students from Years 5 and 6 take part in a photography days organised as a lead up to the 5 Lands Walk
During the first session, our visiting photography expert, Sally, talks to the students about different effects she used in her photos to convey meaning. They learn when it is best to use Black and White and other effects; about perspective; bird's eye view and worm's eye view. They look at some of her photos from many places in the world and hear some of the amazing adventures she had had as a photographer. They then familiarise themselves with the Canon Power Shot cameras which Sally uses for student sessions. They learn how to insert the battery and SD card and look at some of the features of the camera. Each student then takes the camera out into the playground and spends the second session taking their photos. After lunch, they select their 3 favourites, insert their SD cards into the little Selphy printers and print out postcard sized pictures to take home. The quality of some of the pictures are excellent and are submitted to the 5 lands photographic competition.
Postscript: 2 of the entries were awarded runners-up prizes in the open competition (2013)
