Our Year 4 students enjoyed a photography morning recently. Jen from Canon arrived to conduct the morning armed with Canon PowerShot A2200's, PowerShot D20's and some Selphy printers. We also had 2 Canon MG6300 printers available. After looking at some of Jen's pictures and hearing about how she became interested in photography the students learnt about some of the features of the camera and then went out around the school to complete one of the Photo 5 challenges - Bold
They came back with some beautiful shots and then spent some time choosing their favourite.. Some students decided to print their picture on A4 glossy paper and frame it whilst others printed their shots onto transfer paper and had them ironed onto t'shirts, aprons or tote(library) bags.
The students absolutely loved the day and can't wait to try another challenge. They found the cameras really easy to use and were extremely proud of the pictures they took. We have a great photographic display hanging in our Connected Classroom and some very positive comments from parents.
It was really nice to be hear that some students have been inspired to pursue their interest photography as they enjoyed it so much.
